Mediterra Institute x ITTF Foundation
World Table Tennis for Health Festival – Helsingborg, Sweden
The World Table Tennis for Health Festival officially opened in Helsingborg, Sweden, and ran from 26 to 30 November. The Mediterra Institute is proud to have collaborated once again with the ITTF Foundation within the framework of this international event, promoting sustainability through sport and responsible production.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision: using table tennis as a tool for health, social inclusion, and environmental awareness, while encouraging circular economy principles and sustainable practices.
Sustainable Mini Racket Keychains – Watch the video here
For the Festival, the Mediterra Institute designed and produced mini table tennis racket keychains, created as symbolic gifts for the participants.
The keychains were manufactured using ABS plastic, following responsible production methods and emphasizing reuse, durability, and environmental awareness.
Each mini racket was carefully produced in our workshop and engraved with event-related information, transforming a simple object into a meaningful souvenir connected to the values of the Festival.
Informing Through Design
In addition to the keychains, participants received an A5 informative leaflet explaining the concept behind the project, the importance of recycling, and the role of sustainable materials in sports-related products.
This approach aimed not only to offer a gift, but also to raise awareness and encourage reflection on sustainability and responsible consumption.
Circular Thinking in Packaging
The complete set was delivered in a wooden box made from reused wood, reinforcing the project’s circular philosophy. From production to packaging, each step followed principles of reuse, minimal waste, and thoughtful design.
A Meaningful Partnership
Collaborating with the ITTF Foundation is always an honour for the Mediterra Institute. Their ongoing efforts to combine table tennis, health, social impact, and sustainability strongly align with our mission to develop educational and creative projects rooted in environmental responsibility.
We are grateful for the trust, collaboration, and positive energy that surrounded this project and look forward to future initiatives that continue to unite sport, people, and sustainability.
